Ten-year-old Ben lives on an island lighthouse with his father Conor and little sister Saoirse. The girl still does not speak, but it turns out that she is a silk, that is, she belongs to the people of the seal people, just like her mother, who disappeared six years ago. Scared, Conor sends the children to the city to visit their grandmother, but Ben longs to return, and Saoirse continues to call the sea. And so begins their adventurous journey home.
